The founders of the Rugby sport in Gabrovo are as follows:

Dimitar Kontohov– teacher in “Physical Training” , former rugby coach in the Higher Institute of Physical Culture  ; Todor Kirishev—methodologist in the District Council of the Bulgarian Physical Culture Union . КrastyoKrastev -  first chairman of the newly created rugby section from 1973 to 1991. VеselinPeshev– president of “Yantra Gabrovo “  Rugby Club since 1991. GeorgiPetkov -- coach from  1974 who has  special merit for the success of Gabrovo rugby.
